Tonight's Topic: Linux Trolls

First off, let me start out by saying that YES I have tried both Ubuntu 8.somethingorother and Fedora Core 10, and can honestly say that I prefer to use Windows. Linux just doesn't work out for me.

But seriously, when I go online and say I used and enjoy using Windows, I don't need to be flamed every time.

"Microshaft sucks."
"Windoze bloze"
"Windblows sucks, use Linux instead!"
"try out Ubuntu 9.10, otherwise have a conficker. LOLOL"

Are just a little bit of the flames I receive. Also today, I received a little bit of attention when the trolls over at ZDNet found out I received two copies of Windows 7 for free via my school's MSDNAA account. "You can't get Windows for free! You are a PIRATE! SHAME ON YOU!" Yet, no matter how many times I pointed out that it is all perfectly legal, they came back with the same moot argument. Whatever. Either you can't or are unwilling to read what I or anyone else with a level head have to say. So, if you want to continue on making yourself look like an idiot, by all means do so.

But if anything, all you are doing is continue running Windows. If by some off chance that you think yelling at me and telling me "Windoze bloze" or "Microshaft sucks", will get me to trash a couple hundred dollars in software and become an idiot unable to think (Or spell for that matter. It's Microsoft, for future reference.) correctly, then you are mistaken. However, I doubt these people are there to try to convert you, if they were then they would be able to actually have a conversation with you, rather than fight you, they would be able to point out why they like using Linux and wouldn't care either way what I prefer to use. Maybe even exchange or show off cools things both OS's could do. I dunno. They are just there just to fight.

If you prefer to use Linux, that's all fine and dandy. But, don't expect me to show you any respect if all you are going to do is make yourself look dumb. Calling someone and idiot for using Windows, or finding out another fancy way to call Microsoft another derogatory name isn't going to raise your street cred. If anything it's going to turn the masses away from Linux and re-enforce their beliefs that it's a geek toy.

Seriously guys, get a life.
